When I talked to my mom last night she said they would not be able to come see Charlotte this week so she wanted me to post some pictures. These are from yesterday and this morning. Hope you enjoy grandma. For every one else.... Charlotte has found her hands and feet and is starting to play with them as well as picking up and smiling at her toys. She was in the 75th percentile for weight and 65th for length at her check-up last week. She smiles when I drop her off at the babysitters and looks at me as if to say Go to work mom, we've got it. And the biggest accomplishment of all...she slept until 6:15 this morning. Yeah Charlotte and the entire Parks household!
Playing with her Love Bug.
Getting ready to go to miss Lisa's.
Not quite sure what to do with those hands.
Good morning mom.

Sweet Baby
Here is an update on little miss Charlotte. She is becoming more and more playful every day. She smiles and "talks" to you when you tickle her, change her diaper or just come into her view. Yesterday she found her feet and will squeeze them with the most confused look on her face. She still has not rolled over but is getting pretty close. She will put her hand in her mouth and or open her mouth wide when you ask if she wants some milk. All of these things put together and I think we have a pretty smart and special baby.
Smiling with daddy.
Sleeping peacefully.
My 1720's china doll.
Look mom I found my foot.
Good morning, happy to see you.

2 Months Old.
Charlotte is 2 months old today. She likes to swing and is starting to like sitting in her bumbo. She will on sit in the bumbo if it is raised off the floor so she can look around. She even likes to watch football (her daddy is so excited). Frankie said the watched the game yesterday afternoon for 45 minutes. Every time he would say something she would look at him and grunt as if to say shut-up I'm watching the game. We are still amazed that she is ours and able to provide such great entertainment.
Just a swingin.
In the bumbo.

Work
Last Monday was my first day back at work. We all survived the transition pretty well. I thought I would be all weepy and sad when I left Charlotte at the babysitters house Monday morning. I was not looking forward to it. I cried on the way to her house and on the way to work. However it being a Monday and extremely busy at work the next time I thought about poor little Charlotte was around 2 pm. I felt so bad that I had forgotten about her, but I could not dwell on it long because the phone was ringing again. A good friend told me to take a picture right before I dropped her off, because chances are she will be all happy and you will be crying. She was right.
In the car seat getting ready to go the the babysitters.
But ready to cuddle with mom when I got home.

For Grandma
In these pictures Charlotte is wearing a dress that I wore. Mom has pictures of me in it at 3 months. She wanted me to make sure that I got some pictures of Charlotte in it even if she never wore it (seeing that she saved it for 30 years), but mom she wore it to church this morning and did not complain at all .
I do not like the car seat.
Happy to have her picture taken.
Ready for the standard Sunday afternoon nap.

Lessons
I have learned my lesson, several actually over the last year. First, morning sickness can be horrible and the second is that you cannot force medicine down a baby that does not want it. I use to think that pregnant women that got prescriptions for Zofran and promethazine were wimps and just needed to buck up. I quickly learned, last fall, that was not the case. Being sick and throwing up several times a day gets old and you are willing to take whatever in the hopes that it might make it better. Today I learned the second lesson. Charlotte has been having some problems with reflux, so I took her to the doctor this morning. The doctor agreed and gave me a prescription for some Zantac. For those of you who do not know, Zantac tastes like a really strong Altoid. The drug itself is so bitter peppermint flavor is the only way cover up that taste. The doctor offered to give some Axid which tastes good like bubblegum, but I said it should not be a problem getting her to take it because I can add some flavor. So I went ahead and flavored it with some grape, just in case. I tried to give it to her when we got home. I have never seen a baby make such horrible faces, spit, drool, cough and gag at one time as I just witnessed. The moral of the story...you will be shown the error of your ways, just give it time.
