She Walks

Charlotte has finally learned to walk on her own. She is still much faster crawling so she uses that when she needs to get somewhere quick. Walking is just a second option for her right now.

She can also climb.

1 year old

My how the year went by. Our little Charlotte was 7lb 15 oz and 20 inches long a year ago. She is now 20 lbs and 30 inches long. That puts her in the 20th percentile for weight and 80th for height. She is such a sweet girl who likes to get hugs and kisses, give big smiles and run to you when you come home. I can't imagine life without her. We love you Charlotte, Happy Birthday.

Cheesy smile.
I have places to go, mama.

She really just wanted to put hippo in the trash can.

Happy Birthday

Cakes, cakes, and more cakes.

So this is cake.

I will try a bite or two.

Here you eat it, it will go straight to my thighs.

Charlotte's friends helping her unwrap her presents.

Her favorite baby doll. She loves to drag it around by its leg, then love on it, then throw it in the floor. We still have a little work to do on her mothering skills.

Hayden showing her how to play with the puzzle.

She stole her daddy's Dr Pepper.

Sweet girl.

Great News

Charlotte took 4 steps by herself this morning. Then just a few minutes ago I found her in the living room "reading" a book to one of her babies. My baby is so big all of a sudden. Will post birthday pictures later.

Crazy Day

Yesterday we had Charlotte's 1st birthday party. I was planning on posting some pictures of her smearing cake everywhere but that just did not happen. She would not touch the stuff. We tried again this afternoon but she would not touch the frosting, cake or anything. I cannot believe that she has been around for 1 year. We love her more than anything and as Frankie says" would go to the ends of the earth to protect her". That sense of love and protection became ever more clear last night. One of our best friend's Landry was burned when he pulled a cup of hot coffee off the counter. He has 2nd degree burns on his face, neck, shoulders, and abdomen. He is at Arkansas Childrens Hospital in ICU right now. I know the doctors and nurses will take wonderful care of him, but I have thought and worried about him all day. He is 18 months old and a super playmate for Charlotte. His mom keeps Charlotte every day, so to us Landry is like her big brother. I can't imagine what his mom and dad are going through right now, not being able to heal their precious little boy. So tonight say a little or a really big prayer for this family. Pray that God will heal Landry and that He will give mom and dad the strength, courage and support they need to get through this tough time.
