6 Weeks Old

Charlotte was 6 weeks old yesterday. She now weighs 11.5 pounds and is 22 inches long. Yesterday she had her first cooking lesson. She learned how to peel potatoes and make a cake. Actually putting her in the high-chair right next to me was the only way I could get done what I needed to. She continues to amaze us every day. She blows spit bubbles and smiles all the time. She also whimpers or gives that fake cry, then looks around to see if anyone is coming to give her attention. She recognizes that the bottle means food and this morning she did a complete 180 and turned herself around in her crib.

Routines

Routines are good for anyone, especially a little baby. Charlotte has several routines both good and bad. A good routine is going to sleep around 10 pm then waking up at 3 am then at 7 am. This is her most common routine. However last night she slept for 6.5 hours which was wonderful. I had to get up to check on her to make sure she was still breathing. A bad routine of hers is when she gets her diaper changed she thinks she has to eat. It does not matter if she just ate, ate 2 hours ago, 30 minutes ago...if the diaper is changed baby girl must eat. Needless to say she is gaining weight just fine.

1 Month Old

Charlotte is 1 month old today. She is the most wonderful baby on earth and we can't imagine being without her. She amazes us everyday with her new tricks and little personality. As her daddy says we are smitten.

Marketing

No we are not above shameless marketing. Becca and Toby sent us this onsie and I thought it deserved a few pictures. As with all young models, you have a definite time limit.

Saturday Night Bath

This week Charlotte has started tracking objects with her eyes, and is holding her head up really well. She will watch me leave the room if I am talking to her. We think she is advanced but that opinion is quite possibly skewed. She is starting to like bath time, except when washing her face and getting used to having her diaper changed. She does not like it when you recite Little Piggies. You know this little piggie went to the market.... she makes a horrible face.

Week in review.

Not much has changed since last week. Charlotte continues to gain weight, in fact she is getting a pot belly (see picture below). She loves laying on her daddy's chest and is getting pretty good at holding her head up. We made our first long distance trip and Charlotte did very well. It was my mom's birthday so we went to Batesville to wish her a Happy Birthday.
